It will turn out looking pretty unique once it's done, will definatly stand out, also are you removing the indicators out of the front guards for a smoother look since they are in the mirros?

The indicators on the front of the car will remain as they go with the headlights and are a legal requirement for the car. The indicators in the mirrors are solely to replace the side indicators normally fitted to the quater panels which are now covered by the EB flares. From what I was able to work out the car must have the same ammount of indicators fitted as it did when it left the factory and as long as the indicators on the side can be seen clearly then there position doesnt matter, but looking at whats been done plus the loudness of the exhaust which will be getting louder I dont think these indicators are going to be an issue

Ok for yet another week the rain and wind is playing havoc with the build, so I have had to try do smaller mods and projects to keep the build progressing while remaining inside. My little project was to repair my old mobile phone using parts from ebay so that I was able to post better pictures and now that I have it working better pictures will be posted.

Now back to the car. I was able to clean up the paint in the engine bay and make it look shinnier and I am now leaning towards keeping the entire car white. I decided to paint the belt cover, washer bottle and over flow bottle an aluminium colour but cant decide on red, black or polish for the rocker cover. I have how ever smoothed the washer bottle of its mould marks and all the numbers and logos that were on it and did the same to the belt cover as well.

Now the over flow bottle is a little different and seeing as I have a spare I have attempted to smooth out the tom of the bottle. Hopefully it will work but will see when it progresses further. On the outside of the car I have smoothed out the body line on the driverside quater and it certainly looks different. The pictures actually show it rougher then it really is.

Inside I have had to change my stereo surround due to it breaking, so I have stared fitting an alloy panel where the UHF was going to live and will end up having a few switches mounted to it to control the driving lights, push button start (2x alloy buttons), fuel pump and posibley a few other things. I have also got some red neons which will be wired into the interior lighting and hidden under the front seats and dash and another set hidden under the sharker that will only turn on when the bonet is oppened.

Here are a few crappy pictures. I would get more as this were only taken 30 mins ago but it is now raining again

After all this effort and time once the body is done it will be done. Any changes will be simple stuff like stickers and wheels.

Well another distraction has hampered progress on the EL. Before I get to that, a quick update on the EL. The mirrors and LED indicators have been wired in and work great as does the aftermarket central locking that is now in and working. While the interior was out 4 LED strips were installed under the dash and under the front seats and come one when the doors are opened. The interior is now being put but together but focus has now turned to the distraction.

The distraction comes in the form of a 1995 EF gli white 4.0L auto wagon which my partners brother just picked up with rego until late December for a grand. My job is to tidy it up so it can be used as a work vehicle. The car has just over 250,000kms on it but runs awesome and the gearbox is freakishly smooth. Only the tailpipe and drivers side tail light needed replacing and the drivers side rear wheel arch needed some attention but he has splashed out on a few things like seat covers and my old engine bay plastics.

Here are a few pictures of both wagons. Note the EF was just washed prior to the pictures and the wheel arch is still in the paint process

Here is a picture to give an idea of how the rear quaters look on the EL compared to stock

Stock

EL

Also the EF will be getting the mags from the EL and will be getting a nudge or bull bar and some big spot lights on the front
