The AU V8 Utes reputedly had failures like that (and they were only using 5L rotating assemblies). Then again, some people are just unlucky. You did lose a piston when it was still a 5L.

Reckon drag racing at Heathcote a couple of days prior might have something to do with it?

It did run a PB of 13.32 @ 106mph though.
