2009/2010 Springnats/ Autofest Series of Events:
We kick of at Mount Gambier on October 31st and November 1st with Australia’s longest running Street Machine motoring event. The Mount Gambier Show N Shine has just celebrated their 30th anniversary and was seriously looking at ceasing this landmark show and after hearing of this we immediately contacted the organisers, talks were held with the South East street Machines, Mount Gambier City Council as well as the A&H Show Society and a partnership was formed to continue the event with Autofest steering it back to one of South Australia’s premier events.
Between us we could see the benefits of combining resources and by adding the Autofest trademark driving events whilst witnessing some of the most powerful cars compete side by side in events such as the Go To Whoa, Motorkana, Car Audio Competition, Dyno Challenge and the fiercely competitive Burnout Title and of co**** the static display Show N Shine it is anticipated that the Mount Gambier event will have more appeal than ever to both Competitors and Visitors.
Then we are back to Shepparton Victoria on the 27th to 29th November 2009.
Now into its seventeenth year Springnats is the promotion of a performance car festival that provides the true motor vehicle enthusiast with the opportunity to display their skills and vehicles against other enthusiasts in a safe, controlled and friendly environment.
The venue for the All New 2009 Springnats is Shepparton Showgrounds
For years we have been asked for shade, garden upgrades, seating, better facilities etc well the time has came for a change. After looking at moving to other Cities and giving all our options much thought it has been decided that as of November 27th 2009 Springnats will now be held at the Shepparton Showgrounds.
The Shepparton Showgrounds have been chosen as the most suitable venue after consideration of new and upgraded facilities, these include, Grandstand, new grassed areas, air conditioned auditoriums and a new hard stand surface which will cater for all the traditional Springnats driving events.
Benefits Include:
Central Location
Shaded areas
More secure premises
Much more user friendly amenities
Minutes from retail shopping
Opportunity to leave your car onsite all weekend
Brand new Driving Events Area that will far exceed expectations
No more driving through paddocks for parking
Major future improvements also include a new large indoor facility which will house approximately 80 to 100 vehicles and new shedding that will be able to be used as garages
Then we are back on the mighty Murray River at Murray Bridge South Australia on 23rd – 24th January 2010.
Now into it’s forth year the Murray Bridge AutoFest is fast becoming a must do for all that attend cant wait to get back as where can you go in OZ that offers you the enjoyment of all that the Mighty Murray offers whilst being within 50 meters of the Event venue the wives and girlfriends especially love it.
Many actually stay onsite on hired house boats; life doesn’t get much better than that.
The venue for the 2010 AutoFest is again Sturt Reserve at Murray Bridge
Next and the last for the season is Corowa NSW on the 27th and 28th of February 2010. This is our second of many years at Corowa and following on from our other events was a successful beginning and a great venue which offers that added bonus of Drag Racing.
The venue for the 2010 Corowa AutoFest is the Corowa Airport, situated just on the fringe of Corowa the site offers an ideal location well suited to this type of event.
All Springnats and Autofest events cater for all Street Rods, Street Machines, Restored / Authentic, Imports and Kustoms.
Springnats and Autofest events promote a true family atmosphere where spectators are able to enjoy the enthusiasm and excitement of a motor vehicle event in a friendly environment. This has been evidenced by the fact of strong crowd attendances consisting largely of families of all ages.
